Corporate social responsibility
Safer, greener, cleaner
At PSA Peugeot Citroën we’re recognised worldwide for our environmental leadership. As automobile manufacturers, we need to understand the economic, labour, environmental and societal questions posed by what we do. That’s why we’re committed to three specific issues:
The greenhouse effect
Road safety
Urban mobility
We’ve implemented a sustainable development approach aimed at controlling the impact our vehicles have on the environment and society. This covers the entire vehicle lifecycle. Furthermore it’s a commitment that feeds in to our relationship with our employees, suppliers and customers.
Here are just a few examples of our achievements in creating greener, safer tomorrow:
- European leader in low-consumption vehicles, with annual sales of more than one million vehicles emitting less than 140 g/km of CO2
- International agreement on the Group's social responsibility signed in 2006 and implemented at all subsidiaries
- First manufacturer to launch the particulate filter, which has been fitted on more than three million vehicles, and the Stop & Start system
- 100% of automotive production sites ISO 14001-certified
- First carmaker to make the emergency call system widely available
- 13 group vehicles with maximum five-star score in EuroNCAP crash tests
- New vehicles 95% recoverable by weight on average (recycling and heat recovery)
As a socially responsible company, we’re just as committed to looking after our people. We’ve made social dialogue the foundation of our human resources policy. The Global Corporate Social Responsibility Agreement signed with labour unions in 2006 has helped extend this policy to over 200,000 employees around the world.
Equality of Opportunity for All
At the PSA group we are committed to an active equal opportunities policy for all employees, job applicants, customers and suppliers, irrespective of age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic or national origin, race, religion, gender reassignment, marital status or civil partnership, maternity or pregnancy. It is our policy to ensure that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect at all times and we take a zero tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment or victimisation.
Our strong beliefs are a direct reflection of our Company Values and Group Code of Ethics, in particular regarding respect for the individual, the law, the environment, the Company and the customer.
