History
We can’t talk about the success we’ve enjoyed over the years, without mentioning our founder – André Citroën. Over the years, we’ve developed a reputation for standing out from the crowd. You could say we’re distinctive and proud. We like to go against the norms and do things no one else has ever thought of. We invented the gearbox for a start. And we created everything hydraulic. From the famous hydropneumatic suspension, to power assisted brakes and even power steering! It all began with André Citroën’s natural flair for innovation. He engineered the first ever Front Wheel Drive car but died just days before it was launched. André never got to experience what a huge influence he had on the history of the automobile.
Without Citroën’s forward thinking approach and André’s creative genius, the world just wouldn’t be the same!
